6 Ways to Keep Your Skin Glowing Between Facials

April 13 2020
Facials are an important part of skincare. However, facials alone are not enough to maintain beautiful healthy skin. To enjoy the full benefits of your facials you need to properly care for your skin between appointments. Let’s look at a few things you can do to keep your skin glowing between facials.

Establish a Routine and Stick to It

When it comes to proper skincare it all comes down to a routine. Ask your esthetician to recommend products that will be well suited to your skin type. Once you have a routine that works well for you, stick to it. It’s important to use products regularly in order for them to be most effective and keep your skin clean and clear.

Always Remove Your Makeup

We get it. At the end of the day, you’re tired and you just want to go to bed. Sometimes removing your makeup just doesn’t seem like it’s worth the effort. Well, it is! Makeup left on overnight can clog pores, and cause breakouts or other skin problems. Always take the time to completely remove your makeup before you turn in for the night.

Drink Plenty of Water

The best way to hydrate your skin is from the inside out. If you’re dehydrated, your skin will be too. Drinking enough water will help keep your skin moist and supple.

Eat a Healthy Balanced Diet

They say you are what you eat, and one of the first places it shows up is your skin. A diet of greasy junk foods will lead to a  complexion that is dull and prone to breakouts. To keep your skin looking great to eat a well-balanced diet with plenty of healthy fiber. Be sure to include lots of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables and some healthy skin-nourishing fats.

Sunscreen is a Must

UV rays from the sun can damage skin and cause premature aging. To guard against sun damage you must wear sunscreen daily with an SPF of 30 or greater. That means every time you leave your home, even on cloudy days.

Don’t Pick at Blemishes

As tempting as it may be, if you do develop breakouts don’t pick at the blemishes. You could cause scarring as well as spread infection to the surrounding skin. Instead, apply a spot treatment and make an appointment with your esthetician so they can help get the breakout under control.
